Künstliche Mahlzeit: "Artifical Meal" DVD- 18 minutes

This is the first art film by Satanic surrealist artist and sculptor, Warlock Michel Teuber. Though only eighteen minutes long and shot in black and white, this film is an introduction into the surrealistic world of Warlock Teuber. From the introduction to the end of the film, the dark and sometimes striking images of the artist’s sculptures are accompanied by captions in German that give us a brief insight of his thoughts with regards to the Herd, what inspires him to create, and a little of what some of his pieces mean.

Prominent in his pieces is the usage of gas masks and hoses, which he explains symbolizes breathing freely in a world of enslaved minds. His surreal sculptures are akin to the biomechanical pieces of H.R. Giger and the Church of Satan’s very own Magister Diabolus Rex Church, but are far from copies of either artists’ work.

We, the audience, are treated to a small glimpse of Warlock Teuber and a crony as they travel amongst the herd and buying lunch at McDonald’s. We are also given a brief glimpse of what inspires him to create, his studio, of him at work on a sculpture, reading a German copy of The Satanic Bible, and a naked blonde in a gas mask flagellating herself as he describes, through the captions, the enslavement of the Herd to their bible, juxtaposed with images of the Sigil of Baphomet and an art piece featuring crucifixes.

The music that is heard continuously through the film is the dark, eerie, atmospheric, Industrial/electronic music of Warlock Teuber’s group named BIOMECHANIK and compliments the dark images very nicely.

Künstliche Mahlzeit is a great introductory film and something that collector’s of art films may want to own. As an artist myself, I was honored that Warlock Teuber sent me all three of his films to review and I thank him greatly for it. I like his work a lot because I find his sculptures dark and captivating, and this film really did give me a little insight as to why he creates what he does.
